This chart represents the base feature of z/OS, and includes:
- the changes
in monthly charges below 315 MSUs,
- and the the “resizing” of the z990 models
The lowered charges can be observed in the left side of the chart in the
difference between the orange and green bars. For the 2084-303 the monthly
charge is reduced by $14,598.

The flat blue bars represent the original announced
capacity of the z990 models. The flat black bars represent the new “resized” capacities
of the z990s. To understand how these changes impact your environment you
can use the LPAR Capacity and Software
Usage Analysis (LCS) tool. LCS is the only tool that gives you the
ability to do your own analysis of WLC and to Determine what WLC can provide
in your site. The updated prices and machine capacities were delivered
to LCS licensees on Thursday, September 4th. LCS's spreadsheets are interactive
reports that allow you to vary the hardware configuration, software
configuration
or
license
metrics.
